Tom Cruise reveals Mission: Impossible 6 will be filmed next summer
Tom Cruise has confirmed that work has already begun on a follow-up to Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
The franchise's new instalment hits cinemas today (July 30th), but Cruise has revealed that work is already well under way on a sequel and a sixth film in the series.
He told Jon Stewart when asked about a sequel on The Daily Show: "We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer."
The fifth instalment of the action franchise has been directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously directed star Cruise on detective thriller Jack Reacher and sees Cruise reunited with Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames, who starred alongside him in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. Sean Harris stars as the film's villain, with Alec Baldwin and Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson joining the cast.
