Tom Hiddleston to star in King Kong follow-up Skull Island
Actor Tom Hiddleston is set to star in the follow-up film to Peter Jackson's 2005 reboot of King Kong, entitled Skull Island. Hiddleston, who played Loki in both of Marvel's recent Thor movies, has signed on to take the lead role, although details of his character and the film's plot have yet to be revealed.
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has also signed on to direct the new film, putting to rest some recent rumours that Joe Cornish would be in the director's chair for the new movie. Details are still scarce at this stage and so far the only clue to the film's narative has been the teaser trailer released at Comic Con earlier this year (see below), but the film is rumoured to be an origin story for the giant ape.
