Holland, who will make his debut as the web slinger in this month's Captain America: Civil War, was cast last year and replaces Andrew Garfield in the title role. His first solo bow will hit cinemas on July 7th in 2017.
The 19-year old British actor, who has also had small roles in Wolf Hall, Locke and In The Heart Of The Sea, will be directed in his first Spider-Man solo movie by Jon Watts, the director of Sundance Festival hit Cop Car, which is due for release later this year.
Garfield's departure from the roles came after the announcement last year that the web slinger would be joining the Marvel cinmetic universe and a brand new star and director were being sought. He had previously replaced Tobey Maguire in the lead role.
