Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible 7 pushed back to 2022
Long-awaited Top Gun sequel Top Gun: Maverick and the latest instalment of Mission: Impossible have both been heavily delayed.
Originally booked for the summer of 2019, Top Gun: Maverick has been pushed back a number of times, both related and unrelated to Covid-19.
Its latest delay sees it move from November this year to 27th May in 2022.
As well as Top Gun shifting, Tom Cruise's other key franchise, the seventh outing of Mission: Impossible, has also been pushed back.
Noted from carrying on production during the pandemic, the new instalment of Mission: Impossible was booked for 27th May next year, but with Top Gun's delay, it now goes back to September 30th in 2022.
Its sequel, which is being shot at the same time as the seventh movie, currently remains booked for July 23rd in 2023.
Elsewhere, Paramount has also pushed the release of new Jackass reboot Jackass Forever back to February of next year. It was originally due out in October.
