Transformers 7 pulled from release schedule, franchise to be rebooted
The new instalment of Transformers has been pulled from release schedules.
The follow-up to 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight was due to hit cinemas on June 28th in 2019, but has now been scrapped.
Instead, the franchise will be rebooted, taking in more of the direction of new spin-off Bumblebee, which is due in cinemas this December. Studio executives have said that Bumblebee will count as the sixth instalment in the franchise.
Travis Knight, the director who made his name with animated hit Kubo And The Two Strings, is in charge of Bumblebee, with a script from Christina Hodson, who is currently writing Gotham City Sirens, and has Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Michael Bay acting as producers.
Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, Kenneth Choi and Rachel Crow all star, with the action shifting to before the events of the first film.
