Universal moves to start work on Pitch Perfect 3
Smash-hit musical comedy Pitch Perfect looks set to come back for a third instalment.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal have begun negotiating with writer Kay Cannon to return for a third time as the series' scribe, with studio executives also set to ask Elizabeth Banks to return as director once again.
Stars Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick are yet to be signed for the follow-up, but new addition Hailee Steinfeld is thought to be secured to reprise her role in any future Pitch Perfect.
Pitch Perfect 2 has so far grossed just under $250 million at the box office against a budget of just $29 million, more than double the box office return of Pitch Perfect itself.
The movies follow followed the travails of a women's a cappella group, The Barden Bellas, in the first film they competed against another a cappella group from their college to win Nationals and in the second they took on other groups from around the world.
