Universal Pictures unveil full details of Dark Universe, Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise to star
Universal Pictures have revealed full details of their new 'Dark Universe'.
The series brings together The Mummy, Frankenstein and The Invisible Man for a new series of movies. It joins together Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella, who both star in The Mummy, Russell Crowe, who will play Mr. Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, he has a small role in The Mummy, Javier Bardem, who will portray Frankenstein's Monster and Johnny Depp, who has been cast as the Invisible Man.
The characters are likely to be brought together by Jekyll's organisation, Prodigium, which will be introduced in The Mummy and is responsible for tracking, studying and potential destroying troublemaking monsters
Bardem will make his debut as the monster in a reworking of The Bride Of Frankenstein, with Beauty And The Beast director Bill Condon behind the camera, which is due out in February of 2019.
The Mummy is released into cinemas on June 9th and follows Ahmanet, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, who awakes in our current day and begins to wreak havoc.
Starring alongside Cruise, Crowe and Boutella are Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Javier Botet and Selva Rasalingam.
The movie has been directed by Star Trek reboot writer Alex Kurtzman, who works from a script from Doctor Strange writer Jon Spaihts and Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation's Christopher McQuarrie.
