Viola Davis set to join cast of DC's new blockbuster Suicide Squad
Ender's Game and How To Get Away With Murder star Viola Davis has reportedly bagged a key role in the new big-budget adaptation of beloved DC comic Suicide Squad.
The Suicide Squad are a gang of villains and criminals, who are put together and forced by the US government into service as a disposable black ops team. They are led by a government operative Dr Amanda Waller, and, according to Latino Review, this is the role that Davis has been cast in.
The key cast of the blockbuster were confirmed earlier this month. Will Smith will lead the way as Deadshot, with Jared Leto playing The Joker and Delevingne as Enchantress. Tom Hardy will portray Rick Flagg, with The Wolf Of Wall Street's Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jai Courtney as Boomerang.
It was reported earlier this month that Jesse Eisenberg is set to transfer his Lex Luthor character from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and into Suicide Squad, but Eisenberg has, so far, not been announced for the film.
Suicide Squad is to be directed by Fury's David Ayer and will go into production next year, with a release date of August 5th in 2016 already confirmed.
