Warner Brothers hires Divergent and Snow White And The Huntsman writer to reboot Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider, the hugely successful video game series that became two blockbuster movies, is to be given a reboot with a new star.
Angelina Jolie starred as heroine Lara Craft in 2001's Tomb Raider and 2003's Tomb Raider: Cradle Of Life, but will not be involved in the reboot, reports Deadline.
Evan Daugherty, who has written the scripts for the likes of Divergent, Snow White And The Huntsman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has been signed up by Warner Brothers to write the reboot. He is currently working on the script for the sequel to action blockbuster G.I Joe: Retaliation.
No actresses are mentioned in the reports of the reboot getting underway, but, in recent years, The Maze Runner star Kaya Scodelario and Captain America's Hayley Atwell have been linked with the role.
