Watch the first trailer for Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank
The first trailer for Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, a new animated comedy from the director of Disney classic The Lion King starring Micheal Cera, Samuel L. Jackson and Mel Broks, has made its debut online – take a look below…
Loosely based on the concept behind Mel Brooks’ timeless comedy Blazing Saddles (the film original had a working title of Blazing Samurai), Paws of Fury stars Cera as the voice of Hank, a down-on-his-luck dog who finds himself in a town populated entirely by cats. They’re looking for a hero, but Hank just wants to train to defend himself. However, when a ruthless villain (voiced by Ricky Gervais) threatens to wipe their town off the map, Hank must hone his skills and prepare himself for battle.
Brooks appears in the voice cast alongside Cera, Jackson, Gervais, Michelle Yeoh, Gabriel Iglesias and Star Trek veteran George Takei. Rob Minkoff, whose credits besides 1994’s The Lion King include The Forbidden Kingdom and Stuart Little 2, is co-directing alongside Mark Koetsier, whose long list of animation department credits include films such as Kung Fu Panda and Big Hero 6.
Due to arrive this summer, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank has no UK release date yet but is due to premiere in the US on July 15.
