Watch the red-band first trailer for the long-awaited sequel to National Lampoon's Vacation
The first trailer for the long-awaited sequel to National Lampoon's Vacation has been unveiled and you can see it below. But, be warned, it's a red-band trailer with some NSFW content.
The movie, which is simply titled Vacation, stars Thor leading man Chris Hemsworth, Horrible Bosses' star Charlie Day, The Other Woman's Leslie Mann, The Hangover's Ed Helms and Christina Applegate and is set up as both a reboot and sequel of sorts to the 1980s film, which was written by iconic director John Hughes and directed by Harold Ramis.
The movie is the directorial debut of Horrible Bosses 2 co-writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, who also penned the screenplay. The original, which was based on Hughes' own short story Vacation 58, follows the Griswold family as they attempt to travel to theme park Walley World, only for just about everything to go wrong on the way.
Helms takes the role of Rusty, who was portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall in the original, with Applegate playing his wife. Leslie Mann portrays Audrey Griswold, Rusty's sister, who was portrayed by Dana Barron in the original. Chris Hemsworth appears as Audrey's husband, an up-and-coming anchorman called Stone Crandall, and Charlie Day plays a river-rafting guide.
Both Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo have minor roles in this new film. The film is due for release in July.
