White Collar's Matt Bomer joins Chris Pratt and Denzel Washington in The Magnificent Seven remake
Matt Bomer, star of White Collar and Magic Mike XXL, has signed up to star in the new remake of classic western The Magnificent Seven.
Bomer joins Denzel Washington, Guardians Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt, Boyhood star Ethan Hawke, Game Of Thrones' Jason Momoa, American Sniper's Luke Grimes and The Judge's Vincent D'Onofrio and Haley Bennett in the new remake, which is to be directed by Training Day's Antoine Fuqua, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The Western was released in 1960 and starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter and Horst Buchholz as a group of seven American gunmen who are hired to protect a small agricultural village in Mexico from a group of marauding native bandits.
The movie has a script which has been fine tuned by both Saving Mr Banks director John Lee Hancock and True Detective mainman Nic Pizzolatto. It is due for release in January 2017 in both US and UK cinemas.
Bomer will next be seen in the fifth season of American Horror Story, which is titled American Horror Story: Hotel. Bomer will take the leading role in the new series, a role which will see him star opposite Lady Gaga, who signed on to star earlier this year.
