Will Poulter to play Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The Maze Runner and Midsommar star Will Poulter is set to play Adam Warlock in the upcoming third instalment of Guardians of the Galaxy, according to a new report by Deadline.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently in the pre-production phase and director James Gunn appears to have found the man to fill the role of Adam Warlock, whose imminent arrival was first teased in a post-credits scene at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
First created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1967, the character’s first appearance came in issue No. 66 of Fantastic Four, credited only as ‘Him’, but later appeared as Adam Warlock in 1972 and subsequently played a big part in the original Infinity Wars storyline in Marvel’s comics.
Although the writers omitted him from the story in the last two Avengers movies, the character will instead be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is due to begin shooting in November this year and will see Poulter make his debut alongside returning cast members Chis Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Debicki and Bradley Cooper.
James Gunn is directing once again and Kevin Feige will produce the film, which is scheduled to arrive in May 2023.
