Wonder Woman 1984 delayed until June 2020

Wonder Woman sequel Wonder Woman 1984 has been delayed until June 2020.

The film, which is currently in production, was expected to hit cinemas in November of 2019, but has now been moved to June 5th in 2020.

Stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen will be back for the sequel, as will director Patty Jenkins.

Wonder Woman's foe in the new movie is confirmed to be Bridesmaids' star Kristen Wiig, who takes the role of Cheetah.

There are various iterations of the character of Cheetah in the series' comic books, but Wiig's take on the character looks set to be the Barbara Ann Minerva incarnation.

Minerva is a rich heiress who through an ancient ritual acquires supernatural feline powers, a decision that sets on a course to take on Diana Prince in the sequel, which will be set during the Cold War.

Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde and Oakley Bull join the cast in as yet unconfirmed roles.
