X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 2 and New Mutants all get release dates
It's been a busy weekend in the world of Marvel with several exciting announcements arriving, the biggest of which being the confirmation that the next major film in the X-Men franchise will be called X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
The working title for the film was understood to be X-Men: Supernova and it had been rumoured that the new film would be tackling the Dark Phoenix saga, one of the most popular storylines from the X-Men comic book series. The new title confirms that this will be the case and the film has also been given a release date in the U.S. of November 2nd 2018.
That may be some way off, but there's more news where that came from and it was also announced that Josh Boone's New Mutants will arrive in April 2018, while the studio also confirmed that Deadpool 2, directed by David Leitch, will be with us in June 2018.
The latter will see Ryan Reynolds return as the titular hero, while recent additions to the cast include Josh Brolin, who will appear as Cable, and Atlanta's Zazie Beetz, who will take on the role of Domino.
