"We didn't want to do some schlock filler sequel..." - Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson talk Zombieland 2
It's taken a whole decade, but a sequel to much-loved zombie smash-up Zombieland finally arrives.
The original starred Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin and told the story of an unlikely foursome, a shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park, travelling across America, an America which is now overrun by zombies.
For the sequel, Harrelson, Eisenberg, Stone and Breslin all return, with Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia, Rosario Dawson, Thomas Middleditch, Luke Wilson and Dan Aykroyd joining the cast.
Set a decade after the original, this time we follow the mismatched crew from the White House and through the heartland of America as they face off against the many new kinds of zombies as well as some new human survivors.
Ruben Fleischer, who oversaw the Venom reboot, is in charge. Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick provide the screenplay.
The film drops on DVD on Monday (February 24th), but, back before it hit cinemas, we spoke to Harrelson and Eisenberg to find out why it took such a long time to get this sequel together...
