Zoolander 2 to film in Rome this year
After years in development, the sequel to Ben Stiller's much-loved comedy Zoolander, will be filmed this spring and is to be set in Rome.
Coming Soon reports that Ben Stiller and Rome’s Mayor Ignazio Marino have announced that the new film will shoot in the city for 12 weeks.
Justin Theroux, who has written the script with Stiller, will direct the film, with Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson all but confirmed to reprise their roles in the sequel. Ferrell played the evil Mugatu, with Wilson as Zoolander’s supermodel rival Hansel in the first film. Ben Stiller is once again set to star as the empty-headed model Derek Zoolander
It was reported last year that Penelope Cruz will take a leading role in the sequel, though it's not known what her role will be as yet.
Previously it was reported that supermodel Cara Delevigne had entered talks about taking a key role in the film, but nothing has been confirmed since those initial rumours.
