hmv to open 'Europe's largest entertainment store', hmv Vault

hmv Vault set to open in October...

hmv is set to defy the the recent trend of tough challenges for the high street with the unveiling of plans for an enormous new experiential store in Birmingham.

hmv Vault is due to open its doors in October and will house a cavernous 25,000 sq ft retail space dedicated to music, film, television and merchandise, making it Europe's biggest entertainment store and one of the largest of its kind anywhere in the world.

Under ambitious new plans unveiled this week, the new store, situated in Birmingham's Dale End near the city centre, will be home to a vast range of vinyl and CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray and 4K discs, books, a range of tech products such as turntables and headphones, and a carefully curated selection of merchandise including T-shirts, posters and much, much more.

hmv Vault will also double as a venue and will feature a permanent stage area and sound system, which is set to host a series of regular live performances, album signings and other events, allowing fans to get up close and enjoy unique experiences with their favourite artists.

The new store will also be a focal point for hmv's upcoming centenary in 2021, when the chain will celebrate its 100th birthday. The event will mark 100 years since the opening of the very first hmv store, presided over by composer Edward Elgar in 1921 on London's Oxford Street.

There are more exciting developments on the way and more information on hmv Vault will be available soon.
