Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider by Roar Uthaug

It’s been 15 years since we last saw Lara Croft on the big screen, but she returns in style in the brand new reboot of Tomb Raider.

Oscar winner Alicia Vikander takes over from Angelina Jolie in the starring role, with The Wire's Dominic West in the role of her father, archaeologist Lord Richard Croft, the Earl of Abingdon, in the new reboot, which also stars Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu.

The film has been directed by Roar Uthuag, the director behind the Norwegian disaster drama The Wave.

The reboot finds Croft aged 21 and working as a bike courier in East London and refusing to take the reins of her father's global empire. But, still haunted by his disappearance, she then leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad's last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan...
